Six of Australia’s prem support groups have come together to form a national organisation that will unify, and act as a guiding body for existing prem support groups, help to create new ones, help to improve the treatments and outcomes available for premature infants, and represent the interests of these infants and their families in terms of health policies, funding and standards of care.

The Featherweight Club was established in 1994 to help the parents and families of premature and special care babies. The club is based at the Mercy Hospital for women in Melbourne.

The Preterm Infants Parents Association (PIPA) was formed in Brisbane in 1980 with the goal of offering support to the families of premature babies. Queensland & Northern NSW Hospitals.

Austprem provides support and information to Australian & New Zealand parents and caregivers of babies and children born prematurely.

Nepean Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Parents’ Support (NNICUPS) - formed 10 years ago by a group of parents of premature babies. They are based at Nepean Hospital in Penrith.
